Welcome to Greenwood First United Methodist Church.  We are a Christian family in the United Methodist tradition.  The church is an active fellowship with activities for all age groups.  As pastor, I seek to lead the church so that each member has the opportunity to be engaged in each of three distinct areas of discipleship: Worship, Study, and Mission.  Worship is the loving response of the creature to the Creator; Study is our response to the "Great Commission" given by Jesus, "Go into all the world and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and TEACH them to observe all that I have commanded you;" Mission is the name given to multiple activities designed to share the gospel and meet the needs of the less fortunate. By visiting this site, we hope that you will not only be informed of our mission and ministry, but also drawn into and participate in those ministries.  Again, welcome to Greenwood First United Methodist Church, a warm-hearted and welcoming Christian family of believers.  Grace and peace, Glenn Seefeld, pastor.

About the pastor: 

I am a native of Laurel, Mississippi, 1961 graduate of Gardiner High School and Misissippi State University-1971 BS in foresty. After a tour of duty with the United States Army and a twelve-year career in forestry, I returned to school, Emory University, 1986-MDiv, and have served churches in North Georgia and Mississippi from 1982 until the present.
